You got sick for the first time! :(
It was awful holding you with your entire body extremely hot and sad little tears running down your face and I couldn't do anything to take that pain away. I so badly wanted to just take a magic wand and take it all away from you. After almost 48 hours of a high fever, I finally called the doctor. I felt like such a bad mom for waiting for so long but I didn't want to be one of those moms that freaks out and takes her kid to the doctor way too quickly! (there are a lot of moms that do that... "oh you have a runny nose?! doctor!") Your fever kept going away and coming back so I kept thinking you were getting better.
I will say, I highly enjoyed all the cuddle time we had together. You are a baby that is always on the go and for the first time since you were itty bitty, you just laid in my arms and cuddled with me all day long. (Another sure sign that you're sick!) I got to rock you to sleep again each night...ah I loved it. (except the sick part)
When I took you to the doctor they couldn't find any other symptoms other than the fever (which was only at 98.7 when we were there!) so they decided to run some blood work. They found that your white blood cell count was very high so they put you on some antibiotics. The doctor told me that you had a bacterial infection that had we not caught it in time, it could've turned into pneumonia or meningitis! I'm so glad I brought you in! You started taking the antibiotic and the next day you were feeling sooo much better!! I hated you being sick and I never want you to get sick again...you understand?! :)
